Run Strong Physio – Terms and Conditions, Consent to Treatment and Cancellation Policy
Important:
Please read this document carefully. Your use of Run Strong Physio services is conditional upon your acceptance and ongoing compliance with these terms and conditions.
These terms and conditions apply to all Goods and Services supplied by Run Strong Physio. They are to be read in addition to any additional terms specified for individual services, programs, products, fitness sessions, group classes, seminars or events offered by Run Strong Physio.
You acknowledge and agree to the following:
1. Consent to Treatment:
By attending an appointment at our clinic, you acknowledge and give consent to our Physiotherapist to perform any and all necessary examinations and treatment procedures in accordance with their professional training, qualifications and understanding of your injury. You understand that you have the opportunity to discuss the nature and purpose of your physiotherapy care, with your physiotherapist, before any treatment is performed and that you may opt out of treatment at any time.
You acknowledge and accept the following:
-
Physiotherapy involves physical treatment, which may include “hands on” treatment, among other treatment options.
-
You have the right to choose the physiotherapist that you wish to see, refuse treatment, or seek a second opinion at any time.
-
There are risks associated with treatment, including stiffness and soreness, soft tissue injury, neurological complications, cerebrovascular injuries, skin irritations, burns and other minor complications.
-
The chance of risk is lowered by a thorough assessment of your condition, and we take every precaution to minimise risk.
-
In many cases, other treatment options co-exist. If your condition is not musculoskeletal in nature, or the risk of physiotherapy is considered to be too high, your physiotherapist may refer you on to other forms of care if they believe your condition is outside of their scope of practice.
-
There may be risk of remaining untreated. Remaining untreated can result in formation of adhesions, scar tissue and other degenerative changes. These changes can increase pain, which can result in chronic pain cycles, and can result in losses in range of motion and function. Delay in treatment can lead to further complications.
-
We are unable to guarantee that our treatments will result in a cure of your particular complaint or condition. Whilst we recommend treatments that we believe are likely to be effective (based upon our training, experience and research), we cannot guarantee results.
2. Participation – Exercise Risks
I understand and accept that:
-
Participation in physical activity, including but not limited to Running Gait Assessments, involves inherent risks, including strenuous movement, balance and mobility work, weight training, and bodyweight exercises.
-
I may decline any exercise I do not wish to perform.
-
Injuries, accidents, or severe health events may occur.
-
If I feel pain, dizziness, discomfort, or overexertion, I must stop immediately and notify my Physiotherapist.
-
Exercise risks are lowered through my screening and assessments conducted by my Physiotherapist.
-
I have disclosed my known medical history (e.g. underlying health conditions, past injuries, medications, surgeries etc) to my Physiotherapist.
3. Payments and Billings:
You are asked to pay for the services provided to you, and any items provided, on the day of your consultation or as previously discussed with your physiotherapist or admin staff.
Payment can be made in person when you attend your sessions, over the phone, or a bank transfer. Other payments can be discussed with the admin staff, and may be available at their discretion.
4. Cancellation of a session by you:
We understand that unforeseen circumstances are a part of life and therefore, currently do not have a minimum cancellation notice period. However, we do ask you to still inform us of your late arrival or no-show you at your earliest connivence.
5. Cancellation of a session by us:
Unforeseen circumstances may see us unable to provide an appointment that was previously scheduled. In this instance we will do our best to reschedule your appointment to the next soonest availability.
6. Repeat late cancellation / No-shows:
Accumulating multiple late cancellations (<2hour before scheduled appointment), or no-shows, within a 3-12month period may result in a holding deposit requirement for future appointments.
7. Right to refuse service:
We care about the safety of our staff and patients and therefore reserve the right to refuse service to any individual who is disruptive, rude, or threatening the safety of our patients and staff.
8. Thank you for:
